AREAS OF EXPERIENCE
These are areas I have worked in through event delivery, site management and my previous health-and-safety and compliance roles. Working with colleagues and specialist teams continues to shape what I learn.
Learning from colleagues, partners
and the work we do together.
Turning an ambition into a workable programme, with clear priorities, realistic milestones and joined-up decisions.
Making temporary spaces work as live event environments, with the right infrastructure, contractor coordination and handovers.
Bringing NEBOSH knowledge, previous health-and-safety experience and NPSA training into event planning, alongside the relevant specialists and agencies.
Connecting the people who need to make an event happen: Council teams, contractors, emergency services, volunteers and local partners.
Understanding the full cost of a decision, comparing supplier options and matching the resources to the operation.
Keeping a clear head when the plan meets real life. Making timely decisions, communicating changes and helping the team keep moving.
HOW I WORK
01 Understand the ambition02 Build the plan03 Bring the team together04 Deliver. Review. Improve.CREATIVE THINKING. RESPONSIBLE CHOICES.
I’m passionate about making events more sustainable—and finding creative ways to bring that ambition to life.
I want sustainability to shape decisions from the first idea through to the final clear-up: how we use energy, what we bring onto site, who we work with and how people get there. It is a chance to rethink the experience and make it better.
I look for opportunities to reuse and repurpose materials, make better use of infrastructure and explore practical ways to reduce waste and energy demand.
I’m interested in creative design and engaging experiences that help visitors connect with sustainability, from thoughtful installations to the choices they encounter on site.
I aim to bring suppliers and partners into the conversation early, exploring options for materials, power, logistics and travel that suit the event and its setting.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PLAN
I like big ideas. I like a well-run site even more.
I’ve worked at Torbay Council since July 2009, building experience across enforcement, licensing, housing standards, compliance, health and safety, and events. Since April 2023, my focus has been event delivery and client management—supporting the organisers and teams behind a varied programme across Torbay.
Alongside that, I volunteer as a Coastguard Rescue Officer with the Torquay team, with rope-operations training. It reinforces the qualities I bring to events: preparation, teamwork, clear communication and staying calm when it matters.
I’m also a youth football coach and former referee. Different settings, the same belief: people do their best when they understand the goal and feel part of the team.
